Springrove Quail HuntPam and I were at Springrove Plantation north of Charleston for a quail hunt last week. We had 40 birds a day for five days. The weather was ideal: 30's at night and 50's during the day. The dogs hunted a variety of cover from pine savannas to marshes. I used a 20ga in addition to a 16 with .410 gage reducers that gave a skeet pattern. By the end of five days, the dogs were coming back on the run and I managed to shoot pretty well. I attached a photo of Fox on point while coming in with a shot bird. What a shock to return to 5' of snow!
