The July training day at the Snyder training facility was the best turnout ever. Thank you to the entire Snyder family and all of the others who helped. Many families arrived and between kids and puppies, the chaos was wonderful. The food was even better as everyone pitched in and brought something. Even the weather cooperated with a mix of sun and clouds with plenty of moving air in the upper fields. We enjoyed seeing Tiffany and Eric Shaver with their new baby along with several first time handlers. The training opportunities were outstanding thanks to the way the Snyders prepared the grounds. Lanes were mowed in the upper fields where decoys and heeling stakes were placed. We tried to multi task with puppies segregated from the advanced field dogs while water work took place at the two ponds. It saved a lot of time back planting birds during the fieldwork.
Danny used the boat to plant ducks in the upper ponds while Melody and Larry planted puppies and kids in the lower water site. Even Payton Kremers got into the act by planting the goose decoys. It was certainly fun watching this many people enjoying themselves all in the name of NAVHDA. There was a period of time when there were more puppies out than advanced dogs during the picnic. This gave an opportunity to socialize your dog to the group activities.
